Half Marathon

Today I accomplised a feat that I trained long and hard for. I finished the half marathon in monsoon conditions. It's been raining here in Chicago since Friday, and of course it would not let up for the big race. Despite the downpour and soggy clothes and shoes, I ran the best run of my life. 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 17 minutes. I ran with my good friend, Jen, who is training for the Chicago marathon next month. She was nice enough to drop back a bit and run with me the whole way! I couldn't have done as well as I did without her! Thanks, Jen! My boys were also very excited to see me when I got home.
